Just Eat revenue soars 43% to a revenue of £779.5m

Online restaurant delivery company Just Eat has reported a strong financial performance for 2018, with year-on-year revenue up by 43% to £779.5m.

Underlying EBITDA was marginally up by 6% to £173.9m, while pre-tax-profit was £101.7m. In 2017 exceptionals impacted a loss of £76m.

By the end of the year Just Eat had 26 million active customers, with UK orders and revenue – up by 17% and 27% respectively – boosted by the integration of HungryHouse.

Peter Duffy, interim chief executive of the company, said: “Just Eat’s continued strong growth and strategic investments saw more than four million new customers join us in 2018. We are creating a leading hybrid offering founded on our unrivalled marketplace, combined with the targeted roll-out of delivery.

“This gives our growing customer base access to the greatest choice of restaurants and drives even more orders to our restaurant partners, ultimately strengthening the network effects of our business.”
