Xpress are delighted to be working with one of our Scottish based hotel clients that owing to internal moves are now looking to appoint a new Head Chef. Our clients is renowned for offering quality leisure facilities and accommodation, set in the beautiful surroundings of the Scottish countryside, this location is very popular to both UK and previously international guests.
As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the team along with the daily operational matters relating to the Hotel. You will implement and maintain service standards and develop junior staff team members through coaching and training. Additionally, you will be accountable for maintaining Health & Safety standards whilst ensuring high levels of customer service are achieved. As the Head Chef you will working very closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to ensure maximum return on any new menu implementations. As Head Chew you will work closely with local suppliers as well as working with them to create seasonal menus and dishes. Currently the style of food being prepared and created at the established has been focussed on high end premium casual dining with a mixture of traditional style dishes, the current establishment is aware that they are knocking on the door of rosette accreditation ! This might well be an attractive ambition to someone looking to establish themselves as a Head Chef and win such a food accolade; However, not a prerequisite as the establishment has indeed a very healthy food following
It is essential that you will have gained a structured and experienced Kitchen Management background preferably working with perhaps a large Hotel chain or a large resort type Hotel operation and you might well now be looking to step out or up in your career and take on the remit of Head Chef, in a smaller well established country house hotel, we are looking for that unique individual who can drive and develop the kitchen brigade with constant motivation and encouragement. You should be flexible and focused you and will have excellent communication, leadership, and man management skills as well as the appropriate business and financial acumen to run a kitchen operation.
A competitive salary is on offer of circa £36,000 for this position depending on experience, along with all the company benefits. There is also live-in accommodation on site should you need to relocate on a temporary basis.
