We are seeking a creative and highly organised Event and Business Support Assistant to join our client on a part-time basis. In this role, you will work from home/remotely, supporting the event coordination, venue coordination, response handling, online events, meeting minutes, digital asset space development and more. You will play a vital role in ensuring their communication is engaging and efficient, supporting our client and helping them achieve their mission.


 


The Place


Our client is a dynamic organisation that works in collaboration with the Scottish Government, Local Authorities and other trade bodies to support the hospitality and tourism industry and provide essential services, such as lobbying, writing and communicating guidelines and regulations, hosting events and delivering marketing material and are passionate about promoting and growing Scotland's hospitality and hospitality and tourism sector.


 


The Job:



  • Support the Business Support Manager with all external communications and campaigns.

  • Arrange, manage, and attend events.

  • Secure venues for events to be held in.

  • Arrange all advertising and marketing of the event.

  • Manage the guestlist ensuring all invitations are sent and responses actioned accordingly.

  • Work with the venue and events company to ensure the smooth running and successful execution of the event.

  • Help enhance SEO to improve our online visibility and create engaging content for various media outlets.

  • Liaise with stakeholders and community groups.

  • Collaborate with various organisations to deliver successful events.

  • Manage inquiries and database.

  • Prioritize and pre-plan tasks, multitask, and be proactive.

  • Maintain meticulous records and deliver excellent written and verbal communications.

  • Engage in and support all activities.

  • Deal with inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Maintain and cleanse data and information and keep all up to date.

  • Liaise with external partners.

  • Handle all incoming communications.

  • Support legislative compliance with GDPR.


 


The Person:



  • Experience and knowledge of organising and managing events from inception to execution.

  • Proficiency in social media and digital marketing.

  • Understand website management.

  • Experience in marketing experience desirable and preferably within hospitality and tourism.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable working independently within a small team.

  • Commitment to our client’s vision and values.

  • Openness to feedback and continuous improvement.

  • Resilience and ability to work under pressure.

  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Strong administrative skills.

  • Ability to work independently and determine when to seek guidance.

The Rewards:


The event and business support assistant role is part time with flexible hours (30hours a week), as well as working from home and offering an excellent salary in the region of £28k pro rata.
