Caledonian Hotel in Edinburgh hands over key assets to new investors

The Caledonian Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh has been taken over by property investment manager Henderson Park and property management operator Klarent Hospitality.

Edinburgh's historic Caledonian Waldorf Astoria has been sold for an eye-watering £85million to an investment manager and hotel operator.

Twenty14 Holdings, the hotel division of Abu Dhabi-based LuLu Group International, bought The Caledonian from Goldman Sachs in 2018 for the same price as in its recent deal.

Property investor Henderson Park and hotel operator Klarent Hospitality have added to the group's portfolio with the Princes Street property as the third Hilton Hotel.

Since it was established in 2016, London-based Henderson Park has invested $14 billion in real estate across Europe, which includes offices and student accommodations.
