Edinburgh city centre gives new Chaakoo Bombay Cafe food

Amuch-loved Glasgow restaurant is to open its first restaurant in the capital in June

"Authenticity is always at the heart of what we do. From the buzz of our cafes to the flavour of our dishes, they're as close as possible to the original Bombay cafés that Chaakoo is inspired by," - Iain Gallie

The Chaakoo Bombay Cafe will open on the Lothian Road on 12 June, serving a menu with little tapas-style plates, a blend of flavours inspired by Mumbai and Iranian cuisine.

"We are excited to bring the Chaakoo experience to Edinburgh," said operating director Iain Gallie.

It also fits in with the up-and-coming food and drink scene at Lothian Road, which has "become a bustling hotspot in recent years" the company says.

Like its popular sister dining options in Glasgow, the Chaakoo Edinburgh will be open to takeaways.

"We take pride in the fact everything is freshly made, and it's as close to authentic as you'll get," - Rohit Benjwal

Rohit Benjwal, executive chef of Chaakoo said: "We take pride in the fact everything is freshly made, and it's as close to authentic as you'll get. It's a unique experience.
