£45,000 per annum + gratuities + 10% bonus potential

Xpress Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a luxury boutique hotel and restaurant located on Scotland’s stunning Golf Coast in East Lothian. With 27 beautifully appointed rooms and a vibrant restaurant and bar serving 70–80 covers daily.


As part of the hotel’s exciting growth plans, I am looking to speak with exceptional Head Chefs to lead the kitchen and drive the restaurant towards achieving multi-Rosette status in 2025/2026.


About the Role:


This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Head Chef with a proven track record in a high-quality, ideally Rosette environment. You will be instrumental in setting and delivering a consistently high standard using local and seasonal produce. This is a hands-on role suited to a passionate and driven chef looking to make a name for themselves in a stunning part of the country.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and inspire a small, dedicated kitchen team, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous development

  • Create and deliver innovative, seasonal menus showcasing the best of Scottish produce

  • Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation, and service

  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance standards are adhered to

  • Manage kitchen budgets, stock control and supplier relationships

  • Work closely with the General Manager and front of house to ensure a seamless guest experience

  • Mentor and develop junior chefs, promoting learning and progression across the team


What We’re Looking For:



  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a quality-driven environment (Rosette experience highly desirable)

  • Passion for local, seasonal ingredients and contemporary Scottish cuisine

  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills

  • A natural mentor with a commitment to nurturing talent and team morale

  • Ambition to take the restaurant to new heights and be part of its success story
