Currys PC World to sell Amazon Fire TVs

Currys PC World to sell Amazon Fire TVs

It has been announced that new Fire TV JVC TVs are set to be sold in Currys PC World.

The television sets are to be made by manufacturer JVC using Amazon’s software. This will include a voice controlled remote with Alexa, as well as easy access to popular services.

The move is likely to rival Apple’s upcoming TV subscription service and existing iTunes store. It will also compete with Google’s Android TV service available on Sony TVs and LG’s WebOS.

This has been a “significant” move by an industry commentator since streaming services have been increasingly accompanying hardware goods.

Dixons Carphone – who own Currys PC World – already stock Amazon products like the Echo speakers, Kindle and well as equivalent competitor products.
