Our client is a well-established Scottish hospitality group based predominantly in and around Edinburgh. An outstanding family-run business that has continued to grow and expand over many years. The most recent addition to the group is looking for an outstanding Sous Chef to join the team and strengthen the Kitchen brigade at this 'classic pub dishes' restaurant which it's all about the feel-good factor using fresh produce.


Outskirts of Edinburgh Xpress/WT/8351 Salary Permanent £30k plus approx 5k/yr tips and Xmas bonus


The Place:

As Sous Chef you will support and assist the current Head Chef as they relaunch new and exciting menus within the operation.


The Job:

As the Sous Chef, you will report directly to the Head Chef, as part of your remit you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless running of the kitchen department in the most efficient and effective manner in line with the company’s brand standards. Looking at all areas of great kitchen management; Menu Development, Staffing and Rota’s, Supplier engagement, Fresh and New Products, Stocks and GP’s. You will be required to lead the team in service and therefore will need to be versed in all technical competencies relating to this role. You will deliver the highest possible levels of food quality and timings and assist in ensuring key performance indicator targets are achieved. Overall, this is a great opportunity for a progressing individual looking to work in a great kitchen environment where “delivering an exceptional experience” is at the heart of the owners working principles with all employees doing a maximum in any week of 45 hours.


The Person:

This role would ideally suit an experienced CDP that is looking to take that next step up in their career and wants to work in a very varied and exciting eatery, where food development and food trends are at the forefront of the company’s trading strategy. Or indeed you might well be an outstanding Sous Chef and want to learn perhaps more about developing and becoming a Head Chef in the near future: Overall this is a great opportunity for a progressive individual looking to work in a great kitchen environment where “nurturing talent” is at the heart of the owners working principles with all employees guided and directed accordingly.



The Rewards:

A competitive salary of up to £30,000 will be offered to the right candidate. Along with a highly attractive Tronc and Tips package scheme
