The Place:


Xpress is delighted to be working with this American-owned property, based in the luscious scenery of Scotland. After several months of renovation and refurbishment, we are now looking to recruit a HR specialist that will oversee all HR facilities on site with a brilliant HR support mechanism in place, nationally. Our client would see this as a great opportunity for a first-time HR Manager appointment that would ideally suit someone who is currently operating in hotels with a HR remit.


The Job
Our client requires this HR superstar for their high profile property to ensure the quality and standards of service are consistently achieved and the staff that make this possible, have a fluent employee journey whilst working with our end client. You will - 



  • Support the business in developing an effective culture of learning, talent development and succession

  • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and bring alignment between HR strategy and business goals.

  • Oversee a learning and development policy.

  • Support the recruitment process – writing job descriptions, preparing interview questions and application forms, sitting in on interviews and providing advice on recruitment and selection strategies.

  • Carry out new employee onboarding inductions

  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary.

  • Undertaking exit interviews.

  • Provide advice and support to managers on employee-related matters, policies and procedures.

  • Managing and driving employee engagement.

  • Follow up on performance concerns and disciplinary action with staff members including attending meetings, producing letters and formal documents.

  • Provide support as the HR business partner on site.

  • Continually aim to up-skill managers in ensuring consistency and compliance in the handling of people-related issues.

  • Develop, oversee, assist and advise industry-standard policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations

  • Promote the Benefits programme.




The Person
This role requires an HR qualified individual from ideally a 5star boutique hotel-style background but this can be any style of operation. The suitable applicant will have a great presence an eye for detail and the ability to be professional yet friendly and create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for all that work here. You will also need to have a proven employment history in managing and training staff as well as a very good knowledge and understanding of HR functions.
