The Place

Owing to recent internal changes and investment the company are now looking to strengthen their existing Edinburgh based team by appointing a Head of Sales to spear head sales and business growth in what is a very current buoyant and exciting time in the UK Travel and Tourism sector.


 


The Job


As Head of Sales you will report directly into a Group General Manager, you will be fully responsible for working closely on a day to day bases with your current team of circa 8staff who operate across 3 revenue platforms comprising of Sales, Group Reservations and Business Development and Marketing. As Head of Sales you will be based with the majority of your team in an Edinburgh office  but will require some travel to highland hotel locations to meet with clients and managers.


 


The Person 


The ideal candidate will have experience within a hotel or travel environment and be used to managing a reservations team in a b2c sales cycle, the person will be used to being accountable for sales generated and have input in forecasting and target setting. The person will take charge of the central reservations office and own booking channel and report into the Group General Manager.  There is a need to be a people person to allow relationships to develop with hotel general managers in setting a better sales culture throughout the business. In addition to the sales generation centrally and culturally, the person will have direct experience with tour operators, traditional leisure agents and driving sales b2b sales via RFP process and via third party agents preferably in a 4 or 5 star environment.   This role would suit an on-property experienced sales manager or commercial manager wishing to experience a cluster environment.
