Edinburgh’s Chiquito and Frankie and Benny’s restaurants at risk

The Restaurant Group have announced plans to close over 100 of its sites after revealing a £87.7million pre-tax loss for the first half of 2019. As a result, Frankie and Benny’s and Chiquito restaurants in Edinburgh and Lothians are at risk of closing.

The group previously claimed they would be closing 76 Frankie and Benny’s restaurants.

There are various Chiquito restaurants around the Edinburgh area, including eateries at Fountain Park and Fort Kinnaird. There are also restaurants in Livingston and Dunfermline.

Frankie and Benny’s have branches at Ocean Terminal, the Omni Centre, Fort Kinnaird, The Gyle, Livingston and Kirkcaldy.

The Restaurant Group commented that it was aware of the challenges facing the sector and is attempting to strategize for potential complications stemming from a no-deal Brexit.
