Domino's launches GPS delivery tracking option

Domino's Pizza has launched A GPS tracking option, which allows customers to see exactly where their delivery driver is. The option is available in 27 corporate-owned branches in America. When a customer places an order at one of these stores, the Domino's website and mobile app now have a map facility which shows customers where their pizza is, as well an estimated delievery time. There is also a SMS notification option, which sends customers a text message about two minutes before their pizza will arrive.

Store managers also have access to the tracking facility, in hopes to help manage operations. The pizza giant intends to roll out the feature throughout more of their American outlets.

Chief Digital Officer, Dennis Maloney said; "Transparency on orders out on the road makes a big difference to customers as well as drivers and store managers. With GPS tracking everyone can have the best possible delivery experience.”

Domino's Pizza has over 16,000 globally and last week reported a 3.9% increase in like-for-like sales for its first quarter.
