Dog-friendly comedy club to land in Edinburgh next year

A pop-up comedy club, ‘Barking Mad’ will open at the Three Sisters bar in January. The bar offers comedians the chance to bring their pups on stage with them and encourages the audience to bring their furry friends along too!

The event is brought to Edinburgh by award-winning comic, Simon Cain, who created the popular “dogs of the EdFringe” hashtag on Twitter and corresponding Facebook group.

Simon was inspired by the numerous Fringe-goers that were keen to bring there pets along, but struggled to find any pet-friendly gigs.

He said: "But a lot of venues are not dog-friendly and even fewer will let you bring them in to watch as well. I think this needs to change."

The Three Sisters will have pet-themed drinks for the occasion such as ‘Pawsecco’ and ‘Bum-Sniffing Beer’.

Well behaved pooches will be in the running for prizes and the proceeds of the evenings will go to the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home.

Tickets are £10 per person and £5 per pup.

The event begins on January 5 and further nights follow in May, June and July.
