McDonald’s to trial luxury format where customers can book VIP tables

Fast food chain McDonald’s is trialling a new luxury restaurant in London that allows its customers to pre-book VIP tables.

The company will pilot the idea at its High Street Kensington store as part of a publicity stunt to launch its new Signature Collection gourmet style burger range.

The concept will see VIP guests welcomed by a string quartet before they dine amid velvet surrounds using cutlery encrusted with ‘diamonds’.

The new burger menu, featuring classic, barbecue and spicy editions, will be served to customers from under silver cloches by butlers wearing white gloves.

Depending on the success of the trial, McDonald’s may roll out the luxury fast food dining experience again in the future.
