Irn-Bru announces launch of new high-caffine energy drink

AG Barr has announced the launch of brand new high-caffine drink, Irn-Bru Energy. The energy drink is set to launch this summer.

The formula for Irn-Bru Energy combines ingredients such as caffine, B vitamins and taurine (said to give it the Irn-Bru flavour). The launch boasts sugar and sugarless versions of the drink, which will be available in stores from 1st July 2019 in Scotland, Ireland and the north of England.

Marketing Direcotr of AG Barr said: "We know there are a huge number of Irn-Bru fans who love energy drinks, so we’re excited to reveal our plans for Irn-Bru Energy.

“Energy drinks are a really fast-growing, exciting market and we’re confident Irn-Bru Energy will wake up and shake up energy drink fans in Scotland and beyond.”

AG Barrs recently posted a pre-tax profit of £44.5 million for the year, announcing a revenue increase of 5.6%.
