Donald Trump and Andy Murray face hotel takeover bids with the launch of limited edition Monopoly board

The dream has come true! The life of a Scottish hotelier - replete with grand castles, loch-side country manors and boho Edinburgh boutiques - is that much more tangible thanks to the release of a hotel-themed version of Monopoly.

The streets of London have been cast aside in favour of some of Scotland’s most estimable hotels, with Mayfair making way for Edinburgh’s Sheraton Grand Hotel and Gleneagles replacing Park Lane.

Confusingly for commuters, Donald Trump's Ayrshire golfing resort, Trump Turnberry, now stands on the site of Liverpool Street Station. Visitors to Leicester Square will now find themselves cruising on board the MV Hebridean Princess, while shoppers looking for Liberty department store will find it has moved from Great Marlborough Street to the Belmond Royal Scotsman steam train.

That said, anyone who has ever been down the Old Kent Road will consider its transformation into the Michelin-starred 21212 restaurant-with-rooms a step up in the world.

The board game also presents the opportunity to buy out Andy Murray in order to take control of his prestigious Cromlix hotel in Perthshire (formerly Pall Mall).
