London has a spectacular year so far with revpar (YTD) up 11% from 2010, and along with Paris and New York operate in true global markets.

Even with the expectation of flat trading in the UK regional markets the prospect of several major leaders potentially realising their holdings, suggest more stock will come on to the market, offering possible opportunities.

The impact of the above is likely to create an environment of change particularly in the senior end of the Job market through our Europe, with the demand for truly business savvy Directors and General Managers being absolute critical.

The role of the General Manager as a business leader is vital to the success of the operation, the must have skill set can be described as- The General Manager is the executive manager responsible for the overall operation of a hotel establishment. But it is not all about UK and Europe the wider international market is also changing with areas like the Middle East stabilising and looking more robust with the Africa continent showing good current and massive expected future growth.
