Bar Tender
A bartender is a person who serves in a bar, pub, Inn, or similar establishment and is usually the first face customers see when entering the establishment. Bartenders also usually serve as the public image of the bar they tend, contributing to as well as reflecting the atmosphere of the bar. In some establishments focused strictly on the food, this can mean the bartender is all but invisible. On the other extreme, some establishments make the bartender part of the entertainment.
Bar Manager
A Bar Manager oversees all operations at the bar including staffing, employee schedules, event planning, and staff functions and responsibilities. The bar manager reviews the inventory, manages the money and staff, buys supplies and ensures that the bar meets legislative directives. As well as these the Bar Manager is responsible for financial, shrinkage and wage targets in order to make sure the bar itself is profitable.
Landlord
A Landlord has similar responsibilities to a Bar Manager however the major difference being bar managers tend to work within a owned business where as Landlords own the establishment or have entered into a lease agreement from a brewery. They would look after all staffing, operational and legislation issues within the establishment however all maintenance, facility rates and upkeep of the buildings would fall into their remit.
Barista
Barista is a similar role to the traditional Bar Tender however refers to coffee shops. The barista usually has been trained to operate the coffee machine and to prepare the coffee based on the guidelines of the roaster or shop owner, while more experienced ones may have discretion to vary preparation or experiment, and a seasoned veteran will of course need little training beyond specifics of equipment and beans used and the shop's preferences.
Cocktail Mixologist
A Cocktail Mixologist is an extremely specialised role similar to the traditional bar tender however a Mixologist will specialise in mixing and being able to combine flavours to create well known cocktails or experiment with new combinations to create house specialties. Like a chef mixologists will take great pride in producing drinks that represent the image of the bar but also reflect their personalities.
